The pulverized coal-fired furnaces are expected to use co-firing with biomass for environmental reasons. Although the non-uniform ash deposits formed on furnace walls, uniform could be used analysis of operation. objective this investigation was determination deposit thickness, as a criterion prediction sootblower activation moment in coal-biomass co-firing. comprised numerical simulations and find relative differences selected variables that were important activation: mean wall fluxes flame temperatures. local thicknesses determined by gamma distribution several standard deviation values using inversion method. considered among measures central tendency: mode, mean, median, deposits. provide smallest differences, while mode excluded from further consideration after its values. median found better choice than it provided smaller thick deposits, which activation. method based comparison coal firing those proposed moment. can selection operational regimes
